CorroTEK® LFR
Corrotek LFR is an aqueous preparation which is used to give a flameproof finish to cellulose containing fibrous substrates. The effect of the product is based on the synergistic action of phosphorus and nitrogen. Acid catalytic dehydration on heating and formation of inert gases prevent flammability and flame propagation. Corrotek LFR contains 45% dry solids of active material.
Application
It is essential that the fibres are uniformly wetted and impregnated with the flame retardant solution to ensure optimal performance.
Suitable methods of application are by immersion or by size press. In each case the solution concentration should be fixed according to absorption properties, machine speed, and immersion time or press pressure.
It is recommended that the optimum amount of flame retardant to be determined by laboratory tests. A typical loading for good results is 12-15% solids based on dry material.
