Corrogard® OA/M
Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive is a chemical based formulation designed to provide protection to treated metal parts. The product is based on novel chemical compounds of low toxicity and odour giving both vapour and contact inhibition. The product contains highly effective corrosion inhibitors to protect and passivate any active corrosion cells. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive is conveniently applied by merely pouring or misting in the required amount of product into the part that requires protection.
PRODUCT BENEFITS
1. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive actives provide excellent corrosion protection in enclosed spaces over prolonged periods, thus giving good cost performance.
2. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive does not require removal, merely top up with correct grade of lubricant and run.
3. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive does not require that the parts be coated with the product, although this is the optimum protection, the unique vapour action will afford excellent protection to those inaccessible areas.
4. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive is compatible with most commercial oils, no special lubricants required.
5. Corrogard® OA has two main derivatives being OA which is for steel & Cast Iron protection & then OAM which is for multi metal including copper, aluminium etc.
APPLICATION
Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive is easily applied by brush, roller, dip, inline or conventional spray equipment. Parts may also be treated by immersion and allowed to drip dry. The product will find application wherever there is a need for corrosion protection of metal parts or equipment. The range of application is large and the product will find application in protection of gearboxes, axle assemblies, engines, fuel tanks, steel tubing etc. The amount of Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive to be used will vary with the circumstances such as the length of protection required, storage conditions etc., as a general guide use 0,4 – 0,5 ml per litre of space to be protected. If fuel or oil is present use an additional 1,5% of product based on the volume of the fuel or oil. Corrogard® VCI Oil Additive behaves towards non metals (rubbers, paints, plastics, etc.) in a manner similar to other mineral oils, if in doubt carry out appropriate checks or consult Pentakem.
